The audience thought a goal was coming when Zeledon Bernard got free with Camilo Ignatius in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 9 minutes into the game, Bernardo Lidon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Derqui's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Racing FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Derqui's Bernardo Lidon got a free kick in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximino Mergildo in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodosio Ieltxu saved Racing FC from getting behind. Candido Nuñez kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Nereo Guter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Teodosio Ieltxu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guillermo Estevez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodosio Ieltxu having to interfere. Teodosio Ieltxu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nereo Guter, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guillermo Estevez in the 39th minute of play forced Racing FC's goalkeeper Teodosio Ieltxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Candido Nuñez fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing FC's protests and gave Candido Nuñez a yellow card for diving instead. Candido Nuñez kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Bernardo Lidon kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 44th minute Nereo Guter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Ieltxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Braulio Rufio made a kick off. If Guillermo Estevez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodosio Ieltxu made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Maximino Mergildo sent off a good shot on target. In the 53rd minute, Derqui's Maximino Mergildo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 59th minute, Valentin Milian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Racing FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After 67 minutes of play, Racing FC's Braulio Rufio made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Camilo Ignatius was left in no man's land by his defense there! 70 minutes into the match, Derqui's goal looked a bit too open when Braulio Rufio came free, but Camilo Ignatius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Derqui defense, Braulio Rufio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Camilo Ignatius. The Derqui fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Camilo Ignatius should have stopped the shot. Camilo Ignatius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeledon Bernard in the 73rd minute of the match. After 74 played minutes Racing FC got a freekick which was hit by Donato Quilino. Teodosio Ieltxu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximino Mergildo's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Mergildo in the 79th minute of play forced Racing FC's goalkeeper Teodosio Ieltxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Racing FC's Teodosio Ieltxu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guillermo Estevez in the 81st minute of play. Teodosio Ieltxu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guillermo Estevez's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 96th minute Braulio Rufio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Ignatius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Derqui's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
