When Hipolito Cayo fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Sensacion's protests and gave Hipolito Cayo a yellow card for diving instead. Vladimiro Fidensio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Basilio Eriz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. With a little luck, La Sensacion's Basilio Eriz got control of the ball when Prospero Gonzo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ramon Santamarina. The goalkeeper, Atilano Karmel, was totally fooled by La Sensacion's Arnoldo Dabi, who 68 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Julio Frasco was extremely unlucky when he, in the 71st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 75 minutes into the match, La Sensacion's goal looked a bit too open when Prospero Gonzo came free, but Basilio Eriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
