Severo Naelio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Venancio Atauri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Edelmiro Pasqual kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, CHAU MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Guter came free, but Santo Gabrio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Severo Naelio took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Venancio Atauri to make any attempt to save it. If Jose Egoitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CHAU MZ's Santo Gabrio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Guter in the 31st minute of play. A hard shot 34 in the game by Marcial Matthew from a close distance when the talented Venancio Atauri managed to make a qualified save. Canquel's players were relieved. Venancio Atauri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Naelio in the 35th minute of play. Severo Naelio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Canquel's Venancio Atauri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Canquel from getting a goal against them. In the 40th minute of the match, Zacarias Rubio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Venancio Atauri was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rene Guter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santo Gabrio having to interfere. Venancio Atauri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severo Naelio in the 45th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Gorosti during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute Severo Naelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Atauri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Severo Naelio to strike the kick off in the second half. Severo Naelio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Venancio Atauri having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Nestor Filipo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Venancio Atauri was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. 77 minutes into the match, CHAU MZ's goalkeeper Santo Gabrio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rene Guter. The crowd rose to their feet as Jose Egoitz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Santo Gabrio. That made the score 1-1 in the 79 minute of play. Severo Naelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Canquel's Venancio Atauri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zacarias Rubio in the 84th minute of play. Severo Naelio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Venancio Atauri having to interfere. After some careless play in the Canquel defense, Severo Naelio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Venancio Atauri. The Canquel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Venancio Atauri should have stopped the shot. After 95 minutes, Rene Guter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canquel and the CHAU MZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Canquel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Guter to maneuver through the defense. Canquel's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
