CAIndependiente FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cornelio Garaile was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Froilan Astrada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lino Goi struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Nicanor Tirso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CAIndependiente FC. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cornelio Garaile couldn't finish the play. If Cornelio Garaile had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Barto to make the kick off. The goalkeeper, Nicanor Tirso, was totally fooled by CAIndependiente FC's Everardo Rito, who 78 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Chacarita Jrs.'s Nicanor Tirso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Froilan Astrada in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, CAIndependiente FC's Cornelio Garaile sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicanor Tirso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tobias Urbes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Chacarita Jrs.'s zone, Cornelio Garaile stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicanor Tirso came out of the goal and Cornelio Garaile tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chacarita Jrs.'s Nicanor Tirso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Chacarita Jrs. from getting a goal against them. In the 99th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chacarita Jrs.'s goalkeeper Nicanor Tirso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Chacarita Jrs. were victorious despite being under pressure from CAIndependiente FC for much of the match.
