Casillas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ceferino Ruy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Candido Beturian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Justo Pitin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Jorge Gudesteo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Christophersen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 28th minute Jorge Gudesteo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Demario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Candido Beturian who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Justo Pitin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 35 minutes into the match, Christophersen's goalkeeper Justo Pitin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Candido Beturian. The audience thought a goal was coming when Candido Beturian got free with Justo Pitin in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andres Cresencio hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Justo Pitin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ceferino Ruy, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Victorio Aguilera hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Ignacio Videl struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Justo Pitin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Casillas. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eduardo Ostots during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th match minute, Christophersen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Ostots to maneuver through the defense. If Ceferino Ruy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Gudesteo kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Alfonso Demario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Gudesteo in the 71st minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Christophersen's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Beturian came free, but Justo Pitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andres Cresencio's late challenge caught a Casillas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andres Cresencio helped the player get up and apologised. After 80 played minutes Christophersen got a freekick which was hit by Andres Cresencio. Christophersen's Justo Pitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Candido Beturian in the 81st minute of play. Justo Pitin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Beturian, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candido Beturian in the 92nd minute of play forced Christophersen's goalkeeper Justo Pitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Christophersen's Eduardo Ostots got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The audience was convinced that Candido Beturian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Justo Pitin was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Justo Pitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Candido Beturian in the 96th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Casillas lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
