Spectators: 7194 (Terracing: 5397, Seating: 1654, VIP seats: 143) Velez Sarsfield's Esteban Pueblo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hernan Fertus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Olo in the 4th minute of play. After 5 played minutes Oeste FC got a freekick which was hit by Medin Campero. Loco Palermo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Everardo Maxin came out and tried to block the shot, but Loco Palermo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Olo in the 13th minute of play forced Oeste FC's goalkeeper Hernan Fertus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paolo Bran in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Everardo Maxin saved Velez Sarsfield from getting behind. If Gabriel Venerando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Damaso Olo got a free kick in the 21st minute. Loco Palermo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Everardo Maxin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Loco Palermo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Everardo Maxin made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teobald Zurawski in the 28th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Everardo Maxin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oeste FC were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Velez Sarsfield's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Damian Reynardo took the corner. Oeste FC's Damian Reynardo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Everardo Maxin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paolo Bran in the 35th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Everardo Maxin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jimeno Beremundo's late challenge caught a Oeste FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jimeno Beremundo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimeno Beremundo to maneuver through the defense. If Damian Reynardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Oeste FC booed when Velez Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Isauro didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paolo Bran to make the kick off. Everardo Maxin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Reynardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everardo Maxin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Reynardo in the 59th minute of the match. When Eduardo Isauro fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velez Sarsfield's protests and gave Eduardo Isauro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Velez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Eduardo Isauro hit a great ball. Everardo Maxin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loco Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 65th match minute, Oeste FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Llope to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the match, Oeste FC's goalkeeper Hernan Fertus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Damaso Olo. In the 68th minute, Loco Palermo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oeste FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Oeste FC made a substitution. Marcelo Martinez replaced Damian Reynardo. Velez Sarsfield's Everardo Maxin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Martinez in the 75th minute of play. Everardo Maxin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loco Palermo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everardo Maxin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Bran in the 81st minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Carlos-Salvador Tapia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Everardo Maxin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 89 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Tiburcio Felipillo. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Loco Palermo put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Everardo Maxin. There was no doubt that Oeste FC were the better team. Oeste FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
