Armand Molet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enzo Idacio, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Enzo Idacio scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Armand Molet, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Haroldo Aguirre's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armand Molet was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Argentina FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Defensores de Lugano the free kick. The supporters of Defensores de Lugano booed when Argentina FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haroldo Aguirre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enzo Idacio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amedeo Tucci in the 42nd minute of play forced Argentina FC's goalkeeper Cristobal Xabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Amedeo Tucci kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cristobal Xabel. That made the score 1-1 in the 45 minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 90th match minute, Argentina FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Ramond to maneuver through the defense. Argentina FC's Cristobal Xabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcial Elia in the 91st minute of play. If Enzo Idacio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
