In the 19th minute, Jaime Fresco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Castaño's Serafin Hug in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Santiago Odon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Eriberto Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Odon having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

A collision led to Castaño getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Silvio Maldonado hit a great ball. After 69 played minutes Al Hornillo FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Iyan. Israel Xabat struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Florencio Tavio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Al Hornillo FC. Al Hornillo FC's Santiago Odon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Machado in the 79th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Al Hornillo FC's zone, Eriberto Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Odon came out of the goal and Eriberto Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Al Hornillo FC's Santiago Odon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Machado in the 84th minute of play. When Eriberto Machado came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Castaño fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eriberto Machado couldn't finish the play. Santiago Odon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eriberto Machado's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. After some careless play in the Al Hornillo FC defense, Serafin Hug kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santiago Odon. The Al Hornillo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santiago Odon should have stopped the shot.
