The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Narciso Beturian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amado Amato in the 11th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Isidoro Dabi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Popoy AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Dabi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Siro Pabla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Isidoro Dabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnulfo Sayvion kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. When Isidoro Dabi came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Popoy AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isidoro Dabi couldn't finish the play. Delmar Illan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Siro Pabla having to interfere. Siro Pabla made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Delmar Illan sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Dabi in the 44th minute of play forced Cañada's goalkeeper Siro Pabla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Arnulfo Sayvion was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cañada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Popoy AFC the free kick. Arnulfo Sayvion kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Delmar Illan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Siro Pabla when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Delmar Illan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isidoro Dabi to make the kick off. Delmar Illan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Siro Pabla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Amado Amato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cañada's Amado Amato got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Siro Pabla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Dabi, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Isidoro Dabi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Siro Pabla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Cañada defense, Isidoro Dabi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Siro Pabla. The Cañada fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Siro Pabla should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Adan Gora managed to get in a good position for a shot. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 minutes of play Cañada's Arnulfo Sayvion was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Arnulfo Sayvion kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Siro Pabla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Dabi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
