The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Nieves's zone, Jonatan Maju stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonides Birjaio came out of the goal and Jonatan Maju tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ramon Manilan charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramon Manilan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ramon Manilan hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute Jeronimo Donzel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Birjaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Humberto Abastas hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Leonides Birjaio didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when La Naranja Oxidada's Mario Rodriguez shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. If Jeronimo Donzel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nieves's Leonides Birjaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeronimo Donzel in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Humberto Abastas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Nieves's goal looked a bit too open when Jeronimo Donzel came free, but Leonides Birjaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeronimo Donzel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute Jeronimo Donzel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Birjaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When La Naranja Oxidada's Jeronimo Donzel in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nieves's goalie prevented a goal. Leonides Birjaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeronimo Donzel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonides Birjaio came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by La Naranja Oxidada's Mario Rodriguez. But to his dismay, Mario Rodriguez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Leonides Birjaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeronimo Donzel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Jeronimo Donzel did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised Leonides Birjaio 52 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the game, Braulio Sotero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Naranja Oxidada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nieves the free kick. In the 60th minute, Braulio Sotero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When La Naranja Oxidada's Jeronimo Donzel in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Jeronimo Donzel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonides Birjaio having to interfere. In the 76th minute Jeronimo Donzel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Birjaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Nieves getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Humberto Abastas hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeronimo Donzel in the 95th minute of play forced Nieves's goalkeeper Leonides Birjaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The La Naranja Oxidada supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing La Naranja Oxidada would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
