A collision led to Deportivo Armenio getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Hermengildo Gabrio hit a great ball. Sopanta AFC's Roque Viviano got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 11 played minutes Deportivo Armenio got a freekick which was hit by Hermengildo Gabrio. When Roque Viviano came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Sopanta AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roque Viviano couldn't finish the play. Jesus Ascencio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Aragones in the 15th minute of play. Benjamin Nisio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Benjamin Nisio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ariel Gauargi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Viviano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sopanta AFC's Jesus Ascencio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Sopanta AFC from getting a goal against them. Roque Viviano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Ariel Gauargi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Deportivo Armenio booed when Sopanta AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Enaut didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jesus Ascencio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Damaso Aragones went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Eduardo Cibran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Jesus Ascencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roque Viviano struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Ariel Gauargi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sopanta AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Sopanta AFC's zone, Damaso Aragones stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesus Ascencio came out of the goal and Damaso Aragones tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damaso Aragones made a kick off. A hard shot 57 in the game by Benjamin Nisio from a close distance when the talented Ariel Gauargi managed to make a qualified save. Deportivo Armenio's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Damaso Aragones in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jesus Ascencio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Angelino Gilen kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 61 played minutes, Deportivo Armenio's Marciano Naike shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jesus Ascencio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Armenio reached it. 64 minutes into the game, Damaso Aragones cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jesus Ascencio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 66 played minutes Deportivo Armenio got a freekick which was hit by Damaso Aragones. After 69 minutes of play, Deportivo Armenio's Damaso Aragones made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jesus Ascencio was left in no man's land by his defense there! 74 minutes into the match, Sopanta AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Damaso Aragones came free, but Jesus Ascencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Deportivo Armenio's Damaso Aragones in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Damaso Aragones's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jesus Ascencio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Deportivo Armenio's Ariel Gauargi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roque Viviano in the 81st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Damaso Aragones's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jesus Ascencio was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Justino Guillelme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Ascencio having to interfere. Sopanta AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
