Arnoldo Urritz hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th match minute, Macapillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evelio Medero to maneuver through the defense. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the match, Macapillo's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Havier came free, but Inocencio Quico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rigoberto Swain made a kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvio Basajaun couldn't finish the play. Olascoaga's Efrain Oxarra was substituted for Paulo Havier. Inocencio Quico was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Rigoberto Swain capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
