In the 16th minute, Horacio Berart ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antonio Min was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Guaberto Ugaitz kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Artemio Guillerme hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Inocencio Arnalt scored 1-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saul Baldovino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in San Juan 316's zone, Inocencio Arnalt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saul Baldovino came out of the goal and Inocencio Arnalt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octavio Leocadio in the 30th minute of play forced San Juan 316's goalkeeper Saul Baldovino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andrés-Fernando Iniesta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to San Juan 316 getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Artemio Guillerme hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute of the match Juan Lawrence shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Saul Baldovino showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Andrés-Fernando Iniesta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Horacio Berart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrés-Fernando Iniesta to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, San Juan 316's Paulino Ursino got a free kick in the 54th minute. Saul Baldovino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavio Leocadio, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Octavio Leocadio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Octavio Leocadio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Baldovino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Andrés-Fernando Iniesta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Juan 316's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave America del Norte FC the free kick. In the 65th match minute, San Juan 316 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrés-Fernando Iniesta to maneuver through the defense. America del Norte FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Arnalt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
