Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Bras in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hernan Lluterio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Patricio Urki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Ateneo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Urki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evelio Arnau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tiburcio Bermund was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 24th minute. Deportivo Ateneo FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Patricio Urki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernan Lluterio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Jeraldo in the 31st minute of the match. If Serafin Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiburcio Bermund blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Evelio Arnau having to make a save. Patricio Urki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evelio Arnau having to interfere. Deportivo Ateneo FC's Prospero Esquipula got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Seguí FC's Evelio Arnau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Seguí FC from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 51 played minutes Seguí FC got a freekick which was hit by Silverio Fe. Gregorio Gartzen might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evelio Arnau. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gregorio Gartzen ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Ateneo FC's Prospero Esquipula got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Evelio Arnau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Bermund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Deportivo Ateneo FC booed when Seguí FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Jeraldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hernan Lluterio made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Martin Bras sent off a good shot on target. When Astor Lando came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Deportivo Ateneo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Astor Lando couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Deportivo Ateneo FC had played much better football throughout.
