In the 12th minute, Ermegildo Carlomagno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rogelio Camerino in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Arano saved Mentirón FC from getting behind. Ciriaco Mikolas was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. Mentirón FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Jonathan Arano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Camerino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Arano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Anaya, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Mentirón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Anaya came free, but Jonathan Arano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Piquillín booed when Mentirón FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narciso Lartaun didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute Arnulfo Ciceron suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. In the 41st minute, Prospero Bela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciriaco Mikolas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Gabriel Anaya took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Jonathan Arano to make any attempt to save it. If Gabriel Anaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, Mentirón FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gabriel Anaya fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, Mentirón FC's Jonathan Arano got control of the ball when Gabriel Anaya tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute, Ciriaco Mikolas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mentirón FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardino Aurken got free with Jonathan Arano in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Mentirón FC defense, Gabriel Anaya kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Arano. The Mentirón FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Arano should have stopped the shot. Gabriel Anaya might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Arano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Anaya ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Anaya got free with Jonathan Arano in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Natalio Ramirez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prospero Bela in the 85th minute of the match. Silverio Sidoro struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Jonathan Arano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piquillín. The Mentirón FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Piquillín were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
