Luis Lia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Lore having to interfere. Ovidio Ramone kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. If Joaquin Firmin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Monte Hermoso FC's Abelardo Lore proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Monte Hermoso FC from getting a goal against them. When Gamba Osaka F.C.'s František Frič in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Monte Hermoso FC's goalie prevented a goal. Luis Lia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abelardo Lore read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Monte Hermoso FC's zone, Joaquin Firmin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Lore came out of the goal and Joaquin Firmin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Joaquin Firmin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abelardo Lore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from František Frič in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ovidio Ramone was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Luis Lia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abelardo Lore was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If František Frič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gamba Osaka F.C.'s Luis Lia got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. František Frič recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute Joaquin Firmin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Lore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abelardo Lore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Lia in the 75th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Luis Lia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gamba Osaka F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. František Frič received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Monte Hermoso FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gamba Osaka F.C. the free kick. Feliberto Abaunza kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Luis Lia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Abelardo Lore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aristides Sazon hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. 97 minutes into the match, Monte Hermoso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Przemyslaw Rydzewski came free, but Abelardo Lore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Gamba Osaka F.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
