Club Atletico Belgrano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusebio Cordeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gaitan Verlo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidio Dolfos in the 31st minute of the match. Jorge Macario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paolo Tartalo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Urbano Sauveur got free with Jorge Macario in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
