In the 13th minute, Arsenio Fortun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th match minute, Club Poeta Lugones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Omar Jurdan to maneuver through the defense. Wilfredo Millrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anacleto Eliu, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 17 minutes of play, River Plate's Anacleto Eliu made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilfredo Millrick was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wilfredo Millrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anacleto Eliu in the 21st minute of the match. The River Plate fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when River Plate's Anacleto Eliu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Anacleto Eliu took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilfredo Millrick. Wilfredo Millrick dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. With 31 minutes on the clock, Honorio Eder commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in River Plate fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, David Cristofol, was totally fooled by Club Poeta Lugones's Arsenio Fortun, who 33 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Ramiro Eneto struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Wilfredo Millrick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. In the 40thth minute of the game Anacleto Eliu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Poeta Lugones's Wilfredo Millrick was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. River Plate's Apolo Javiero got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Club Poeta Lugones's goal looked a bit too open when Anacleto Eliu came free, but Wilfredo Millrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Americo Salomone to make the kick off. Anacleto Eliu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Millrick having to interfere. Anacleto Eliu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ramiro Eneto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Millrick having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anacleto Eliu in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilfredo Millrick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ramiro Eneto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Club Poeta Lugones's zone, Anacleto Eliu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfredo Millrick came out of the goal and Anacleto Eliu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Wilfredo Millrick managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when River Plate's Remigio Umbruso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Anacleto Eliu might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilfredo Millrick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anacleto Eliu ran back to his position shaking his head. Ramiro Eneto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87thth minute of the game Anacleto Eliu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Poeta Lugones's Wilfredo Millrick was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 89th minute of the match, Anacleto Eliu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wilfredo Millrick saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Anacleto Eliu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilfredo Millrick read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute Apolo Javiero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilfredo Millrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Club Poeta Lugones's Robustiano Haritzeder got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 95th minute of the match Filomeno Jaizki shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilfredo Millrick showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. River Plate's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
