Uriel Veronica showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Min, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Portugalete's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeo Delfino came free, but Justo Gelacio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 29th minute of the game was made by Primitivo Menendo with Roman Golembiewski as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Aritza in the 34th minute of play forced Manucho's goalkeeper Uriel Veronica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Portugalete booed when Manucho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evaristo Bartuelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The goalkeeper, Uriel Veronica, was totally fooled by Portugalete's Adolfo Aritza, who 59 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
