Club Atlético de Rafaela's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Guipuzkoa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Dimas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute Artemio Evarado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Dimas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Marko in the 22nd minute of play forced Karanka's goalkeeper David Dimas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24thth minute of the game Baldomero Caetano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Karanka's David Dimas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 25 minutes, Luciano Marko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético de Rafaela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luciano Marko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute, Baldomero Caetano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético de Rafaela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 32nd minute of the match Arnoldo Salvino sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anastasio Piorno skillfully saved the ball. The Karanka players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Club Atlético de Rafaela were winning 0-3.

Francisco Guipuzkoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Dimas having to interfere. Baldomero Caetano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Francisco Guipuzkoa put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of David Dimas. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baldomero Caetano in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Dimas saved Karanka from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Guipuzkoa in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Dimas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 68 played minutes Karanka got a freekick which was hit by Nemesio Bernard. Baldomero Caetano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Dimas having to interfere. Francisco Guipuzkoa struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. David Dimas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético de Rafaela. Baldomero Caetano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. David Dimas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Nemesio Bernard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Guipuzkoa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Dimas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. In the 96thth minute of the game Baldomero Caetano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Karanka's David Dimas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Club Atlético de Rafaela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
