An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Urtungo in the 24th minute of play forced GRANACAPO's goalkeeper Hugo Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Victorio Loramendi came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victorio Loramendi couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gogo Gelacio made a kick off. In the 51st minute, River Plate's Gogo Gelacio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hugo Gatti. Hugo Gatti yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Celso Luar kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, GRANACAPO's Song Yun Xun got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Hugo Gatti made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Ciro Urtungo sent off a good shot on target. River Plate's Erasmo Ponc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Javier Remicio in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Chepe to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javier Remicio in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erasmo Ponc saved River Plate from getting behind. If Javier Remicio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Gatti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gogo Gelacio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustavo Joey charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Joey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 86 minutes, Marlon Sombrutzki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GRANACAPO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marlon Sombrutzki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Javier Remicio struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Erasmo Ponc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GRANACAPO. Erasmo Ponc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Javier Remicio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. River Plate were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over GRANACAPO's much stronger midfield.
