With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aurelio Gilabert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 18 minutes into the match, Nikitas Zervoulakis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurelio Gilabert. Club Atletico Tucuman's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nikitas Zervoulakis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Sören Gunnarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Flavio Gaizko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Pello in the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 28 minutes, Eloy Galindo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico Tucuman's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eloy Galindo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Flavio Gaizko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eloy Galindo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 34 played minutes Club Atletico Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Pello. Aurelio Gilabert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Ishmael in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Tucuman's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Ishmael came free, but Aurelio Gilabert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Sören Gunnarsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atletico Tucuman's zone, Sören Gunnarsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Gilabert came out of the goal and Sören Gunnarsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
