FC Porto's Juan Bemabe got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Porto's Benedicto Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Almela's zone, Filomeno Ulizes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alonzo Ariando came out of the goal and Filomeno Ulizes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When FC Porto's Rickard Backlund in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Deportivo Almela's goalie prevented a goal. Daniel Maura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. With an all-out effort, Deportivo Almela's Luisito Ascencio threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Daniel Maura, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Luisito Ascencio came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Almela's Rene Justin. But to his dismay, Rene Justin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Rickard Backlund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the game, Benjamin Lawrence was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Almela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Porto the free kick. The supporters of FC Porto booed when Deportivo Almela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Lawrence didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rickard Backlund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After 54 played minutes FC Porto got a freekick which was hit by Matthias Ström. With a little luck, Deportivo Almela's Alonzo Ariando got control of the ball when Rickard Backlund tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alonzo Ariando didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benedicto Duarte went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 67th minute Rickard Backlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alonzo Ariando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luisito Ascencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Justin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 70 minutes of play, Deportivo Almela's Rene Justin made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luisito Ascencio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luisito Ascencio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Maura in the 79th minute of play. FC Porto's Luisito Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Maura in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Daniel Maura ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luisito Ascencio was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. After 87 minutes, Matthias Ström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Porto and the Deportivo Almela players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 87 played minutes FC Porto got a freekick which was hit by Matthias Ström. After 91 played minutes FC Porto got a freekick which was hit by Rickard Backlund. There was no doubt that Deportivo Almela were the better team. Deportivo Almela's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
