With a little luck, Riachuelo's Guaberto Velasco got control of the ball when Silvano Mano tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Mario Daunte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luisito Emesto to make the kick off. Generoso Sazon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Angelo Tiso hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zacarias Nesor in the 84th minute of play forced Riachuelo's goalkeeper Guaberto Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guaberto Velasco came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Tacañitas FC's Generoso Sazon. But to his dismay, Generoso Sazon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 96th minute, Mario Daunte made a precise shot to the right of Reynaldo Uhin. Tacañitas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-4. The Riachuelo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Riachuelo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
