After a rather tough play, East London United's Constantino Furman got a free kick in the 40th minute. Juan Ubarnas short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Jeremias Bernat to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeo Felipillo in the 46th minute of play forced East London United's goalkeeper Jeremias Bernat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tadeo Felipillo to make the kick off. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind East London United's goalkeeper Jeremias Bernat, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Juan Ubarna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
