Melquiades Beila hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Mauro Abreu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Justino Emenon's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After having played for 28 minutes, Justino Emenon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STAND BY's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justino Emenon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Atilano Chus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miguel Frutos was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Cirilo Beltza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Frutos having to interfere. 39 minutes into the game, Atilano Chus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Miguel Frutos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Cirilo Beltza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cirilo Beltza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

STAND BY's Miguel Frutos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save STAND BY from getting a goal against them. 57 minutes into the match, Justino Emenon notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sanford's Mauro Abreu. Mauro Abreu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mauro Abreu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Justino Emenon went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. STAND BY's Miguel Frutos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Demesio in the 64th minute of play. Miguel Frutos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Demesio in the 69th minute of play. Cirilo Beltza might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Frutos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cirilo Beltza ran back to his position shaking his head. Miguel Frutos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Demesio in the 76th minute. 77 minutes into the match, STAND BY's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Demesio came free, but Miguel Frutos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atilano Chus's late challenge caught a STAND BY's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atilano Chus helped the player get up and apologised. After 80 played minutes Sanford got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Chus. If Justino Emenon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 84thth minute of the game Justino Emenon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sanford's Mauro Abreu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 89 minutes, Fernando Demesio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sanford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Demesio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 93rd minute, Fernando Demesio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel Frutos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. With a little luck, STAND BY's Miguel Frutos got control of the ball when Cirilo Beltza tried to sneak it across the goal line. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
