The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Rosendo Sanduru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rosendo Sanduru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Americo Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Moises Lucado fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Tierra y las Hormigas's protests and gave Moises Lucado a yellow card for diving instead. Bernabe Cordeara struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Fernando Ariando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Te rompo el orto. In the 19th minute, Rosendo Sanduru fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Americo Domingues, passed just outside the right post. La Tierra y las Hormigas's Fernando Ariando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernabe Cordeara in the 22nd minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Alfredo Baumar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Tierra y las Hormigas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Te rompo el orto the free kick. Rosendo Sanduru hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After having played for 33 minutes, Rosendo Sanduru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Tierra y las Hormigas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rosendo Sanduru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernando Bemabe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Ariando having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rosendo Sanduru got free with Americo Domingues in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernabe Cordeara to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes, Ciro Mirande mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Te rompo el orto and the La Tierra y las Hormigas players grew even worse after the yellow card. A sloppy throw-in by Cristian Xabel in the 78th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by La Tierra y las Hormigas's Moises Lucado. Alfredo Baumar got his second yellow card in the match during the 84th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 85 played minutes La Tierra y las Hormigas got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Baumar. When Moises Lucado came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the La Tierra y las Hormigas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Lucado couldn't finish the play. La Tierra y las Hormigas's Pedro Odilon got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 94 minutes into the game, La Tierra y las Hormigas's Rosendo Sanduru nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Americo Domingues made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. La Tierra y las Hormigas had played much better football throughout.
