Elena's Albino Mendez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Elena from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pablo Mattin got free with Albino Mendez in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vicente Naike's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Javier Ovando read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Clodoveo Macerio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Albino Mendez. That made the score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. Vicente Naike sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tiburcio Santio during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Matador de Victoria getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Tiburcio Santio hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute, Serafino Refugio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Javier Ovando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Naike in the 45th minute of the match. If Pablo Mattin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Clodoveo Macerio to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Elena's goal looked a bit too open when Clodoveo Macerio came free, but Albino Mendez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pablo Mattin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Albino Mendez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Naike could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Javier Ovando made a huge save. Elena's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Naike was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Javier Ovando breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vicente Naike got free with Javier Ovando in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Vicente Naike had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Naike came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Javier Ovando could save by the left post. Cristo Quin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Mattin in the 89th minute of play forced Elena's goalkeeper Albino Mendez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Vicente Naike had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Javier Ovando didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vicente Naike went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score.
