Barcala FC's Freddy Abaunza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lee Létourneau in the 8th minute of play. When Jaime Froylan fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barcala FC's protests and gave Jaime Froylan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th match minute, Barcala FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Froylan to maneuver through the defense. Lee Létourneau succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 14th playminute. Daniel Hernando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braulio Maiorga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Braulio Maiorga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Barcala FC's Braulio Maiorga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Daniel Hernando narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 30th match minute, Barrio 33 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lee Létourneau to maneuver through the defense. Florentino Gorri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Daniel Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 33 played minutes Barrio 33 got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Mazuste. After having played for 34 minutes, Elvio Abar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barcala FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elvio Abar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lee Létourneau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Siro Ixidor during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Siro Ixidor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Braulio Maiorga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Daniel Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lee Létourneau in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Freddy Abaunza saved Barcala FC from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Lee Létourneau might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Freddy Abaunza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lee Létourneau ran back to his position shaking his head. 53 minutes into the match, Barcala FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lee Létourneau came free, but Freddy Abaunza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Barcala FC booed when Barrio 33 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Bernal didn't get a good kick on the ball.
