The referee gave RACING CLUB a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Apolo Olo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Funky Monks FC's Paolo Gaspard. 1-0. Godfredo Peyo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paolo Gaspard read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. After 14 played minutes RACING CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Arias. The supporters of Funky Monks FC booed when RACING CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Arotza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Dacio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Gavino Matia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sebastian Espiridion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Funky Monks FC's goalkeeper Paolo Gaspard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sebastian Espiridion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Paolo Gaspard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Funky Monks FC's goalkeeper Paolo Gaspard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marciano Uxio hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Paolo Gaspard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godfredo Peyo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 40 minutes, Sebastian Espiridion managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RACING CLUB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Espiridion was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute, Humberto Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Godfredo Peyo to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastian Espiridion in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paolo Gaspard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 75 minutes into the game, Marciano Uxio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Funky Monks FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RACING CLUB the free kick. Marciano Uxio hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Paolo Gaspard was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Sebastian Espiridion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. RACING CLUB were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Funky Monks FC for a fine match.
