Teodosio Gauargi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Eustaquio Monico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the game, Ernesto Fernanco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pichanas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FLYING WHALES the free kick. Ernesto Fernanco hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 14 minutes, Raul Belmiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pichanas and the FLYING WHALES players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute, Raul Belmiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pablo Lucian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Eloy Sazon made a huge save. Apolo Favila's late challenge caught a FLYING WHALES's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Apolo Favila helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th minute, Apolo Favila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teodosio Gauargi in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eustaquio Monico saved FLYING WHALES from getting behind. Fidel Paublo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudio Larra kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Fidel Paublo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Eustaquio Monico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pablo Lucian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Sazon having to interfere. Fidel Paublo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eustaquio Monico read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. If Juan Urtats had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodosio Gauargi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eustaquio Monico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodosio Gauargi in the 47th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fidel Paublo to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodosio Gauargi got free with Eustaquio Monico in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to FLYING WHALES getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Claudio Larra hit a great ball. After some careless play in the FLYING WHALES defense, Teodosio Gauargi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eustaquio Monico. The FLYING WHALES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eustaquio Monico should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fidel Paublo in the 66th minute of play forced FLYING WHALES's goalkeeper Eustaquio Monico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Pablo Lucian managed to get in a good position for a shot. FLYING WHALES's supporters rose to their feet, but Pablo Lucian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eloy Sazon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pablo Lucian might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eloy Sazon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pablo Lucian ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd minute, Juan Urtats got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pablo Lucian in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eloy Sazon saved Pichanas from getting behind. Donato Firmo charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donato Firmo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 88th match minute, FLYING WHALES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Firmo to maneuver through the defense. Juan Urtats fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Sazon having to interfere. The Pichanas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pichanas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
