Maximo Lizardi started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Palacios's goal looked a bit too open when Maximo Lizardi came free, but Gerardo Firmo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrian Santo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Firmo having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Gowlan FC's goalkeeper Rigoberto Ritchie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lino Guzman. Lino Guzman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th match minute, Gowlan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dalmacio Atauri to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Augusto Mino fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 17th minute, Dalmacio Atauri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Augusto Mino, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 18 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Rigoberto Ritchie was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Augusto Mino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rigoberto Ritchie having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Ruben Medero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, Gowlan FC's Aaron Abadia broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Palacios booed when Gowlan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardino Oliverio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerardo Firmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Rito, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximo Lizardi in the 34th minute of play forced Palacios's goalkeeper Gerardo Firmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Maximo Lizardi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerardo Firmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maximo Lizardi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Maximo Lizardi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gowlan FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximo Lizardi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerardo Firmo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Mino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lino Guzman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Augusto Mino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Palacios's Aquilino Tabby got a free kick in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximo Lizardi in the 61st minute of play forced Palacios's goalkeeper Gerardo Firmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gowlan FC's Rigoberto Ritchie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Mino in the 64th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adrian Santo got free with Gerardo Firmo in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 71 minutes into the game, Urbano Intxixu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gowlan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palacios the free kick. In the 71st match minute, Gowlan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urbano Intxixu to maneuver through the defense. Lino Guzman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Lino Guzman managed to get in a good position for a shot. After 81 minutes, Ruben Medero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palacios and the Gowlan FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maximo Lizardi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Palacios's zone, Emilio Rito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerardo Firmo came out of the goal and Emilio Rito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emilio Rito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gowlan FC's Maximo Lizardi in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palacios's goalie prevented a goal. Lino Guzman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Rigoberto Ritchie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Gowlan FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
