If Florencio Monico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the match, RENGUEROS's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Colas came free, but Prudencio Osasun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jimeno Colas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimeno Colas in the 17th minute of play forced RENGUEROS's goalkeeper Prudencio Osasun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 18 minutes, Jimeno Colas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minacar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimeno Colas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Braulio Basualdo during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of RENGUEROS booed when Minacar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braulio Basualdo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, RENGUEROS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jimeno Colas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 34th minute, Faustino Florian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Minacar's zone, Orlando Oxarra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fidel Mendebal came out of the goal and Orlando Oxarra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute Orlando Oxarra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Mendebal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fidel Mendebal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eulalio Haritzeder in the 43rd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eulalio Haritzeder made a kick off. Florencio Monico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Minacar defense, Orlando Oxarra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fidel Mendebal. The Minacar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fidel Mendebal should have stopped the shot. Jimeno Colas might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Prudencio Osasun. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jimeno Colas ran back to his position shaking his head. 74 minutes into the game, Jimeno Colas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Prudencio Osasun was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Prudencio Osasun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Monico in the 78th minute of the match. Prudencio Osasun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Monico in the 80th minute of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Florencio Monico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minacar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florencio Monico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Orlando Oxarra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Mendebal having to interfere. In the 90th minute Eulalio Haritzeder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Mendebal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Braulio Basualdo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Minacar's supporters rose to their feet, but Braulio Basualdo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Prudencio Osasun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 96 minutes into the match, RENGUEROS's Orlando Oxarra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fidel Mendebal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
