When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Dante Silbestre sped through Belgrano's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Omar Felo. Luciano Heriberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 minutes of play, El ciclon Gambito's Luciano Heriberto made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Belgrano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugenio Paio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulises Abaunza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinicio Fe, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Guido Abar hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Hector Libertad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Belgrano's Omar Felo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Heriberto in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, El ciclon Gambito's Dante Silbestre sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Omar Felo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Belgrano players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El ciclon Gambito were winning 1-3.

Omar Felo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Heriberto in the 54th minute of play. If Vinicio Fe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. After 58 played minutes, Belgrano's Ciro Orti shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ulises Abaunza came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Belgrano reached it. When Miguel Madaleno fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El ciclon Gambito's protests and gave Miguel Madaleno a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, El ciclon Gambito's Miguel Madaleno got a free kick in the 60th minute. If Eugenio Paio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luciano Heriberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Omar Felo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulises Abaunza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinicio Fe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
