With his leg Ruben Birjaio managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Libertad AFC's Ubaldo Dalmu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Los Trilliz's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tomás Bastia 19 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, Los Trilliz's Hector Dolcet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Javier Vedillo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Javier Vedillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Dolcet in the 27th minute of the match. Hector Dolcet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hector Dolcet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Javier Vedillo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. If Hector Dolcet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 37th minute Tomás Bastia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Birjaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomás Bastia to strike the kick off in the second half. Ruben Birjaio came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Libertad AFC's Ubaldo Dalmu. But to his dismay, Ubaldo Dalmu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Libertad AFC's Ubaldo Dalmu got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Hector Dolcet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruben Birjaio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ubaldo Dalmu's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. 66 minutes into the match, Los Trilliz's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás Bastia came free, but Ruben Birjaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Javier Vedillo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jesus Kiliz went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Hector Dolcet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Trilliz's supporters rose to their feet, but Hector Dolcet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Javier Vedillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 79 minutes into the match, Los Trilliz's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Dalmu came free, but Ruben Birjaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Los Trilliz booed when Libertad AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Gora didn't get a good kick on the ball.
