Gilberto Acosta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Osoro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the game, Teo Iratxo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santos de Lucas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marzala the free kick. With his leg Adolfo Urdaspal managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Santos de Lucas's Claudio Theobald fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Adolfo Urdaspal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Gonsalvo in the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Abel Gonsalvo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Urdaspal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Santos de Lucas's Claudio Theobald sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adolfo Urdaspal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Santos de Lucas's Gilberto Acosta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lázaro Dimas in the 34th minute of play. Christian Osoro might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilberto Acosta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christian Osoro ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 39th minute Christian Osoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Acosta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Acosta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lázaro Dimas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 53rd minute, Lázaro Dimas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilberto Acosta was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Claudio Theobald scored 1-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adolfo Urdaspal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpected shot in the 64th minute by Lázaro Dimas got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donato Lizar during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Santos de Lucas booed when Marzala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Lizar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Lázaro Dimas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilberto Acosta. Santos de Lucas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lázaro Dimas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 73 minutes into the match, Santos de Lucas's goalkeeper Gilberto Acosta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lázaro Dimas. Gilberto Acosta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Osoro in the 76th minute of play. If Lázaro Dimas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Osoro in the 80th minute of play forced Santos de Lucas's goalkeeper Gilberto Acosta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Osoro in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilberto Acosta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lázaro Dimas struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Gilberto Acosta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marzala. When the final whistle sounded Marzala left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Santos de Lucas.
