Spectators: 7240 (Terracing: 5432, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 143) The supporters of Picapiedras F.C. booed when FC PORTO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmacio Iaki didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 4 played minutes Picapiedras F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Cirilo Luzaide. In the 6th minute, Venancio Indar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, FC PORTO's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo Sabin came free, but Saul Gaspard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Fernando Sotero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iker Xabel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC PORTO's Iker Xabel got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cirilo Luzaide kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Picapiedras F.C.'s zone, Iker Xabel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelino Banegas came out of the goal and Iker Xabel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saul Gaspard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Intxixu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. FC PORTO's Saul Gaspard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Domenec in the 29th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Evaristo Sabin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Picapiedras F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo Sabin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saul Gaspard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Joel Intxixu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, FC PORTO's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Domenec came free, but Saul Gaspard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristo Guerau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Marcelino Banegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evaristo Sabin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iker Xabel to make the kick off. A hard shot 52 in the game by Evaristo Sabin from a close distance when the talented Saul Gaspard managed to make a qualified save. FC PORTO's players were relieved. The crowd rose to their feet as Picapiedras F.C.'s Joel Intxixu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Saul Gaspard. That made the score 0-1 after 53 minutes of play. A collision led to Picapiedras F.C. getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Javier Boni hit a great ball. Joel Intxixu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Saul Gaspard came out and tried to block the shot, but Joel Intxixu slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 64th minute. Saul Gaspard made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Evaristo Sabin sent off a good shot on target. Cristo Guerau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Marcelino Banegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Intxixu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Ovidio Vela hit a great ball. Evaristo Sabins short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Saul Gaspard to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Saul Gaspard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Intxixu's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. After a rather tough play, FC PORTO's Silvio Cai got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 80 played minutes Joel Intxixu could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 0-3 into the left cross. Evaristo Sabin might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Saul Gaspard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evaristo Sabin ran back to his position shaking his head. The Picapiedras F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Picapiedras F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
