After 15 minutes, Faustino Solustiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pelicurá and the C. A. Ciudadela Norte players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th minute, Faustino Solustiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Pelicurá's goal looked a bit too open when Efrain Pio came free, but Benito Colon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonel Celino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerardo Petrigai in the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Gerardo Petrigai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Gerardo Petrigai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pelicurá's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerardo Petrigai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonel Celino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Colon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efrain Pio in the 27th minute of play. Gerardo Petrigai struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Leonel Celino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pelicurá. Romulo Martinez kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Tomas Cisco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Ciudadela Norte's zone, Gerardo Petrigai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonel Celino came out of the goal and Gerardo Petrigai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gerardo Petrigai was extremely unlucky when he, in the 37th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The long shot by Esteban Formerio in the 46th minute really tested Leonel Celino's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Amado Maule charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amado Maule the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amado Maule kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Tomas Cisco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerardo Petrigai to make the kick off. C. A. Ciudadela Norte's Leonel Celino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Petrigai in the 54th minute of play. Leonel Celino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Cisco's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Cristobal Niva got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. C. A. Ciudadela Norte's Cristobal Niva got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 71 minutes, Filiberto Licerio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C. A. Ciudadela Norte and the Pelicurá players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 71 played minutes C. A. Ciudadela Norte got a freekick which was hit by Filiberto Licerio. Cristobal Niva in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Colon, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 78 minutes, Efrain Pio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Ciudadela Norte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Efrain Pio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristobal Niva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Colon having to interfere. Efrain Pio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerardo Petrigai in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonel Celino saved C. A. Ciudadela Norte from getting behind. C. A. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Cisco in the 94th minute of play forced C. A. Ciudadela Norte's goalkeeper Leonel Celino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Efrain Pio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute Efrain Pio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Colon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gerardo Petrigai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pelicurá were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of C. A. Ciudadela Norte for a fine match.
