To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cañete's Rafael Cesaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Pancho in the 44th minute of play. After 45 played minutes Cañete got a freekick which was hit by Jose Petrigai. Rafael Cesaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Matro in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnoldo Matro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Sportivo Corrientes getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Mateo Mosen hit a great ball. Arnoldo Matro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. In the 86th minute, Igor Ondino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sportivo Corrientes's zone, Igor Ondino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Oto came out of the goal and Igor Ondino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Igor Ondino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cañete's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
