The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Nueva Chicago's Leonel Sergi seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Leonel Sergi the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Nueva Chicago protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Leonel Sergi had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Nueva Chicago:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Toque y Va:s goal. Nueva Chicago:s Benicio Eguntsenti showed great skill when he stopped Iker Urti:s penalty. In the 12th minute, Robustiano Umbruso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robustiano Umbruso during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Nueva Chicago booed when Toque y Va was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robustiano Umbruso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauro George struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Benicio Eguntsenti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toque y Va. When Generoso Pepillo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 25 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Benicio Eguntsenti was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Generoso Pepillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Toque y Va's supporters rose to their feet, but Generoso Pepillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benicio Eguntsenti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Toque y Va's Generoso Pepillo suffered a concussion after 33 minutes and had to leave the field. 33 minutes into the game, one of Nueva Chicago:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 36th minute there was a penalty for Toque y Va. Iker Urti stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Benicio Eguntsenti. 1-1. Danilo Bertin made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Remigio Berdaitz sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Remigio Berdaitz to make the kick off. Remigio Berdaitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Danilo Bertin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Remigio Berdaitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Mauro George made a precise shot to the right of Benicio Eguntsenti. Nueva Chicago's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Nueva Chicago's zone, Mauro George stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benicio Eguntsenti came out of the goal and Mauro George tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 76th minute, Remigio Berdaitz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Danilo Bertin was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Danilo Bertin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remigio Berdaitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Remigio Berdaitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 85 played minutes Nueva Chicago got a freekick which was hit by Nemesio Txanton. After having played for 87 minutes, Nemesio Txanton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nueva Chicago's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nemesio Txanton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute Mauro George shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Eguntsenti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
