Angelino Vimaro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Felipe Raitin. La Makina F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atletico RiverPlate's zone, Anier Emmanuel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eustaquio Jaume came out of the goal and Anier Emmanuel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eustaquio Jaume showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Eguen, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. If Jacinto Eguen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute of the match Blas Mateo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Felipe Raitin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 33 minutes, Marcial Benino made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. La Makina F.C.'s Felipe Raitin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Anier Emmanuel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eustaquio Jaume read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. The attack was good, but when Jacinto Eguen in the 38th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Diego Frechoso charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diego Frechoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 39 played minutes Club Atletico RiverPlate got a freekick which was hit by Diego Frechoso. Aurelio Tristan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Eustaquio Jaume made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Anier Emmanuel sent off a good shot on target. In the 44th minute, Jacobo Lohitzun reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eustaquio Jaume. The goal made the score 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcial Benino to strike the kick off in the second half. Jacinto Eguen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Jacinto Eguen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eustaquio Jaume didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacinto Eguen went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When Anier Emmanuel came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the La Makina F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anier Emmanuel couldn't finish the play. A collision led to La Makina F.C. getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Aurelio Tristan hit a great ball. Jacobo Lohitzun hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After having played for 83 minutes, Marcial Benino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico RiverPlate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcial Benino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felipe Raitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcial Benino in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th match minute, Club Atletico RiverPlate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Garoa to maneuver through the defense. If Marcial Benino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute Jacinto Eguen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustaquio Jaume saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. La Makina F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
