After a rather tough play, Rescate's Higinio Uzuri got a free kick in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Abelardo Gonsalvo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Campbell AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rescate the free kick. A collision led to Campbell AFC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Abelardo Gonsalvo hit a great ball. Victorino Aureo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jeronimo Fertus. Campbell AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ezequiel Manilan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jeronimo Fertus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ezequiel Manilan came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Rescate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ezequiel Manilan couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Rescate's zone, Silverio Eriz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Egoitz came out of the goal and Silverio Eriz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeo Silbestre in the 26th minute of play forced Rescate's goalkeeper Rodolfo Egoitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ezequiel Manilan came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Rescate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ezequiel Manilan couldn't finish the play. Jeronimo Fertus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Manilan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rescate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ezequiel Manilan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute Romeo Silbestre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Egoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodolfo Egoitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Silbestre in the 39th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ezequiel Manilan was the one to do the kick off. Rescate's Rodolfo Egoitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeo Silbestre in the 58th minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Romeo Silbestre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Campbell AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romeo Silbestre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 66 minutes into the game, Rescate's Zeledon Loiola nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jeronimo Fertus made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Claudio Llanos kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Silverio Eriz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silverio Eriz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodolfo Egoitz having to make a save. Rescate's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
