The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Timoteo Maties took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacobo Ricart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paloma's Leonides Salamon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Paloma from getting a goal against them. Timoteo Maties made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Txema in the 13th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Natalio Quilino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paloma's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Tucson the free kick. A collision led to Paloma getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Natalio Quilino hit a great ball. In the 19th minute, Ovidio Bento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Timoteo Maties came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Paloma's Victorio Ekialde. But to his dismay, Victorio Ekialde quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 30 minutes into the match, Jacobo Ricart notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Sporting Tucson's Timoteo Maties. Timoteo Maties was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 35 minutes into the game, Jacobo Ricart cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Timoteo Maties was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aureliano Koldobika hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zacarias Pedroso was the one to do the kick off. Timoteo Maties was a little too slow when Nicanor Isidor got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 0-6. Nicanor Isidor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victorio Ekialde's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Timoteo Maties skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 68 minutes, Patricio Eladio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Tucson and the Paloma players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 68 played minutes Sporting Tucson got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Eladio. A hard shot by Albino Dalmu from long distance, 69 minutes into the match, got Timoteo Maties's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 70 minutes into the match, Sporting Tucson's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Isidor came free, but Timoteo Maties reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patricio Eladio hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Timoteo Maties made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victorio Ekialde in the 73rd minute. In the 76th match minute, Sporting Tucson was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Blanco to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Paloma's Nicanor Isidor slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Timoteo Maties. That made the score 0-7 after 82 minutes of play. 88 minutes into the match, Sporting Tucson's goalkeeper Timoteo Maties had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victorio Ekialde. Patricio Eladio got his second yellow card in the match during the 88th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Sporting Tucson's Patricio Eladio got a free kick in the 89th minute. A hard shot 91 in the game by Victorio Ekialde from a close distance when the talented Timoteo Maties managed to make a qualified save. Sporting Tucson's players were relieved. When Victorio Ekialde came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Paloma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victorio Ekialde couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Paloma booed when Sporting Tucson was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zacarias Pedroso didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Sporting Tucson's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Isidor came free, but Timoteo Maties reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
