Zacarias Pedrosos short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Rodolfo Egoitz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zacarias Pedroso in the 17th minute of play forced Rescate's goalkeeper Rodolfo Egoitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Rescate's Damaso Valiente got a free kick in the 18th minute. The supporters of Sporting Tucson booed when Rescate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Llanos didn't get a good kick on the ball.
