Javier Bernad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvano Rojelio in the 43rd minute of play forced Antofagasta's goalkeeper Roque Blanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Javier Bernad to strike the kick off in the second half. Antofagasta's Maximiliano Vimaro got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maximiliano Vimaro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eustaquio Martxelin having to make a save. 74 minutes into the match, Antofagasta's Paulo Kemen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eustaquio Martxelin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 75th minute Maximiliano Vimaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustaquio Martxelin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Maximiliano Vimaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. San Lorenzo's Eustaquio Martxelin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save San Lorenzo from getting a goal against them. San Lorenzo's Eustaquio Martxelin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Kemen in the 94th minute of play. San Lorenzo's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
