The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Everardo Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolo Madaleno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robustiano Vimaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cleto Mazuste made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robustiano Vimaro in the 9th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robustiano Vimaro got free with Cleto Mazuste in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Washington Lalu came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the PORVENTOR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Washington Lalu couldn't finish the play. Robustiano Vimaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Mazuste having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Quintino Bezerra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PORVENTOR fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 26 played minutes LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL got a freekick which was hit by Cornelio Rosalio. After 30th play minutes Guido Gorka shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Everardo Cordeiro and just under the crossbar into goal. 33 minutes into the game, Washington Lalu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PORVENTOR's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL the free kick. The supporters of LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL booed when PORVENTOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Washington Lalu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cleto Mazuste made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Robustiano Vimaro sent off a good shot on target. Robustiano Vimaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Cleto Mazuste made a huge save. Everardo Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolo Madaleno in the 47th minute of play. The LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. PORVENTOR were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Washington Lalu made a kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match PORVENTOR got a corner. LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Varfolomey Syroezhkin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL's goalie and right to Quintino Bezerra. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Varfolomey Syroezhkin charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Varfolomey Syroezhkin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. PORVENTOR were furious when Xamin Narria was red carded, 63 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 62 minutes into the game, one of PORVENTOR:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpected shot in the 68th minute by Bartolo Madaleno got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. PORVENTOR's Quintino Bezerra shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 69th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Everardo Cordeiro but with some difficulty. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Guido Gorka managed to get in a good position for a shot. PORVENTOR's supporters rose to their feet, but Guido Gorka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Everardo Cordeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot by Quintino Bezerra from long distance, 74 minutes into the match, got Everardo Cordeiro's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 78th minute, Varfolomey Syroezhkin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bartolo Madaleno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Everardo Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Bartolo Madaleno notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL's Everardo Cordeiro. Everardo Cordeiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Washington Lalu in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Everardo Cordeiro saved LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL from getting behind. In the 94th minute Nestor Mazuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cleto Mazuste saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96thth minute of the game Marco Mouricio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PORVENTOR's Cleto Mazuste was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Washington Lalu got free with Everardo Cordeiro in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
