Jose Atarratze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Torres having to interfere. Leo Ixona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Astor Lopes having to make a save. Leo Ixonas short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Astor Lopes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Jose Atarratze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 24 minutes into the match, Genaro Lander had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Astor Lopes. Neuquén FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Genaro Lander was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 31 minutes into the game, Isaias Menendo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Neuquén FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético 0 Descensos the free kick. Isaias Menendo kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Leo Ixona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Astor Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Genaro Lander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Astor Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genaro Lander in the 44th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Genaro Lander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Adolfo Lander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iker Torres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jose Atarratze in the 58th minute. Astor Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genaro Lander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Astor Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Lander, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Jose Atarratze sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Astor Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Ixona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leo Ixona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute, Leo Ixona made a precise shot to the right of Astor Lopes. Neuquén FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Iker Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Urdaspal in the 82nd minute of play. If Jose Atarratze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Basilio Guilabertus took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Astor Lopes. Neuquén FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Neuquén FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
