The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mercedes AFC's Prudencio Senin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Mercedes AFC from getting a goal against them. When Gonzalo Gartzen fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético 0 Descensos's protests and gave Gonzalo Gartzen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Gonzalo Gartzen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Genaro Lander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes in the game, Genaro Lander fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Prudencio Senin having to interfere. Mercedes AFC's Rolando Balendin got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Sesuldo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iker Torres having to make a save. In the 24thth minute of the game Rolando Balendin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético 0 Descensos's Iker Torres was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adolfo Lander's late challenge caught a Mercedes AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adolfo Lander helped the player get up and apologised. Iker Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sesuldo in the 31st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sesuldo in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iker Torres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Prudencio Senin made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Leo Ixona sent off a good shot on target. 44 minutes into the match, Genaro Lander had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Prudencio Senin. Mercedes AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Genaro Lander was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. When Genaro Lander came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Club Atlético 0 Descensos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genaro Lander couldn't finish the play. After the first half Mercedes AFC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Cristian Sesuldo made the kick off in the second half. Club Atlético 0 Descensos's Iker Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sesuldo in the 52nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mercedes AFC's Artemio Marin got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Club Atlético 0 Descensos's Leo Ixona got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 67th minute of the match Club Atlético 0 Descensos got a corner. Mercedes AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adolfo Lander ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Gonzalo Gartzen was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. Prudencio Senin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Lander, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Leo Ixona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prudencio Senin having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Incendio during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Club Atlético 0 Descensos getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Lucas Incendio hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Mercedes AFC's Maximino Arlo in action when he in the 80th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sesuldo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iker Torres. That made the score 1-4 in the 82 minute of play. Leo Ixona scored 2-4 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Prudencio Senin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lucas Incendio hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Rolando Balendin had several of the Club Atlético 0 Descensos's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 94 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-5 score and a disappointed Iker Torres as he didn't even see the shot coming. The Mercedes AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
