After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Ezequiel Maldonado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Mar del Plata's supporters rose to their feet, but Ezequiel Maldonado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timoteo Mogel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Arnulfo Palos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ezequiel Maldonado to strike the kick off in the second half. Arnulfo Palos made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Timoteo Mogel sent off a good shot on target. In the 54th minute, Ezequiel Maldonado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Deportivo Mar del Plata's goal looked a bit too open when David Jenaro came free, but Jonatan Jenaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ezequiel Maldonado got free with Arnulfo Palos in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ezequiel Maldonado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Timoteo Mogel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnulfo Palos having to make a save. The supporters of LUTGARDIS RIVEROS booed when Deportivo Mar del Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position.
