The tension between the Matancilla FC and the Club Atlético Belgrano players grew even worse after the yellow card. Braulio Eguerdi's late challenge caught a Matancilla FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Braulio Eguerdi helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Atlético Belgrano fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 31st minute. Penalty! The referee gave Matancilla FC a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ubaldo Jaen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Atlético Belgrano's Aaron Olentzaro. 0-2. 38 minutes into the match, Matancilla FC's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Harri came free, but Nicolas Montay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicolas Montay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saturnino Harri in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Adolfo Niguel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Club Atlético Belgrano players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Matancilla FC were winning 0-2.

Club Atlético Belgrano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adolfo Niguel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. 94 minutes into the game, Club Atlético Belgrano's Igor Sugar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicolas Montay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. When the match was over Matancilla FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Club Atlético Belgrano throughout the match.
